Newport Interchange to Birdhill
Site clearance in all areas is virtually complete.
Cut and fill earthworks are progressing well and are up to 73% complete. This area contains the Drominboy and Annaholty bogs where earth works are 93% complete.
There are ten new bridges in this section and work has commenced on six. Underbridge 83 which crosses under local road L6016 is 85% complete. Overbridge 33 which crosses local road LS5004 is 98% complete.
Touknockane quarry is also in this section and to date has produced over 1,000,000 tons of aggregates.
